school's getting hectic now...lots of tests and projects coming up...

i'm making going out to eat a weekly thing...a different ethnic restaurant each week...this week was thai, next week...i'm thinking lebanese!

last night i made spicy buckwheat noodle "salad" with shredded carrots/cucumbers, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds...flavored with the oil in 老干妈辣椒酱 and soy sauce...people seemed to like it :) and i just kinda randomly whipped it up haha i'm so talented!

forget about business school...i should be a chef!

seems like we can't escape mba terminologies even during social events...but it's business terminologies applied to everyday life. we are such good students

shiitake mushroom & turnip stew

i found an asian market really close to my apt...it's small but got the essentials...bought some buckwheat noodles, 老干妈chili, soy sauce (can you believe i didn't bring mine? i left all my cooking stuff except spices), some pumpkin seeds for snacking, dim sum (肠粉&虾饺 - i had some for lunch, they were decent), some dried shiitake mushrooms and turnip...i love turnip, mom usually make soup with it...i called mom for recipes for turnips, she said the easiest (one of) way is to stew the mushrooms with the turnip in water and flavor with soy sauce. so i did...the kitchen/living room smelled like mushroom and turnip...duh...i'm not eating it today so i'll let the stew cool and refridgerate some and freeze some like you would beef stew...and i'll eat it w/ the pinto beans i boiled today...pinto bean is supposed to be the best most nutritious item in the beans/whole grains group...so i'm gonna use it to sub all my grains...well not like i've been eating rice anyways...

having lunch w/ two chinese girls in my prog tomorrow and then shopping...i need a black purse, and brown dress shoes!!!
